Charity Dog Swimathon
We would like to say a ‘MASSIVE THANK YOU’ to everyone who supported our CHARITY DOG SWIMATHON on Sunday 25th March.
Thank you to everyone who came along and swam their dogs as well as our fantastic sponsors who provided prizes for the Raffle and the Tombola.
With all of your help we raised an amazing £1005.42 for Pensions 4 Paws.
Pensions 4 Paws support retired Police and Fire Dogs from Hampshire Constabulary, Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. They are run purely by volunteers, so ALL money raised goes to supporting the dogs.
When a Police or Fire Dog retires they receive no financial assistance, all the cost of care and ongoing treatment falls upon the new owner. Their mission is to support these courageous dogs who have worked long hours protecting both the public and their handlers.
During their working life they are cared for by the Police and Fire Service and get the best healthcare available. Pensions 4 Paws aim to continue to give these dogs the healthcare they deserve after retirement and give them the best life possible.
Vet bills are expensive for the range of treatments these old dogs require. They hope to provide assistance to the new owners so that heartbreaking decisions do not have to be made for financial reasons.
